NEW YORK PAINTINGS

                   1972-1977

The subject matter of these works utilizes the diverse anthropomorphic

precipitator devices employed in the industrial regions of Tri-State New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Symbolically titled, with the nomenclature of ancient alchemical vessels, the paintings connote the processes of transmutation of matter into the “Philisopher’s Stone.” The vessels are enshrouded in an  atmosphere of chemical fog and metaphysical potential.
