The Silk City titled series of three paintings refers to the Historic Silk Production City of Paterson, New Jersey founded by Alexander Hamilton utilizing The Passaic Falls as a source of power. The paintings portray some of the many historic English type red brick “mill” buidlings of the eighteenth and ninteenth centuries which were redeveloped with Federal funds into living and commercial spaces starting in 1978. The paintings were commissioned by The Broadway Bank & Trust Company, CEO Martin Sukenick, in the mid Nineteen Seventies. Since then the Broadway Bank was seized by the Federal Banking Authorities. The current whereabouts of the Paintings is unknown.
